| Excelsior Peak was established by Juliet Cullen, a pioneer of viticulture in Tumbarumba, The 9 hectare vineyard is located 25km south west of Tumbarumba at an elevation of 600 metres with a north west aspect, overlooking Carboona Gap. The sunny slopes are perfect for ripening Pinot Noir and Chardonnay to produce wines with intense flavour and complexity. Most of the fruit goes to the Hardy Wines Company for premium sparkling wines, with small parcels specially chosen for the Excelsior Peak label. The Excelsior Peak 2000 Pinot Noir was chosen as one of the "Top 40" wines at the 2002 NSW Wine Awards, from over 600 entrants. |
