by variety and price

This page gives you the control to sort your wines the way you like them. Whether you're into Chardonnay, Sangiovese or Cabernet Sauvignon, this method allows you the ability to sort by variety and price. At Murray River Wines we set about creating three distinct price brackets for our products - the first is Everyday Drinking wines that are priced below $15.00 per bottle. The second category is Business or Pleasure and are wines that are priced between $15.00 and $30.00. The third price category is Wines to Impress over $30.00. Simply select your variety and then click on your preferred price range and then the wines in this category will be displayed. Always remember that orders must be in 10's but these can be made up of 10 different wines from 10 diferent wineries.

By far the simplest method of buying Murray River Wines is to buy one of our pre-packed selections. There are 7 different packages available. This method of purchase saves you time in buying wine, but doesn't offer you the choice and flexibility of the other methods.

Our Boutique Bargains page lists the current specials on offer. There may be stock that we need to quit to make room for new vintages. Wineries may have end of vintage specials - so if you want a bargain then check this page out regularly.

Buying by tour, we believe is the most flexible and rewarding way to buy our wines. Simply click the link to the tour page and spend a while meandering the river from Tumbarumba to Goolwa. Along the way you can stop at the wineries that populate this marvelous Australian icon. Browse their wines and make your selection (you may choose as little as one bottle per winery - but you must have 10 bottles to complete a purchase.

There are three main ways to pay for wines from Murray River Wines. The first is to join as a member so that you can use your credit card via our secure payments page, the second is to pay by direct deposit and the third by cheque. All methods are secure for your peace of mind.

When you've selected the wines of your choice (remember you can mix wines from ten different wineries to make up your minimum purchase of ten bottles) you can proceed to the checkout. At all stages leading up to this, if you have more than one bottle of wine in your trolley, the view trolley button becomes available so that you can see what you've already selected.

In the checkout area you still have the opportunity to modify your order, to join up as a member, or to back out of your transaction completely. Once satisfied with your selection, you then enter your postcode (this allows us to calculate the freight on shipping your wine through Australia Post).

After this you are presented with the choice of either a non members checkout or a members checkout. Non members checking out will have to enter their details before progressing further along the checkout process. If you're a member, login using your username and password (as we already have your details you wont need to enter them).

The reasoning behind our drop rating system is to assess each wine on its merits within a certain price bracket. We have three distinct price categories of Everyday Drinking under $15.00, Wines for Business or Pleasure between $15.00 and $30.00 and Wines to Impress over $30.00. The drop rating system is a guide only to the quality and rarity and assures you that the wine you are drinking is certainly a good drop for the money you are paying.

As we all know, peoples tastes vary - our drop rating is a guide only and is the opinion of our tasters, people who enjoy wine in everyday circumstances with good food and good company.

If your opinion varies with that of ours, we would certainly like to hear about it. Down the track we'll introduce a second rating system that allows you to have your say.
